PLEASE NOTE: Special parking arrangements
Yes, we will hold our annual Thanksgiving service as usual on November 28. However, please note that Foothill Blvd in front of our building will be closed to all vehicular traffic (i.e. no Foothill car access and no Foothill parking) because of the Thanksgiving Day Run sponsored by the La Cañada Community Center and the City.
Therefore, we need different driving and parking arrangements from the usual, such as parking around the corner on or near Commonwealth Ave. Here are suggested details:
Traveling from the west:
- Take the 210 freeway to the Gould exit
- At the top of the exit ramp, turn left onto Gould to the first stop sign, which is Houseman
- Turn left onto Houseman, go to the end, which is Oakwood Ave
- Turn left onto Oakwood and continue for about a half block
- Turn right onto La Porte (just past the bridge) and continue to the end, which is Commonwealth Ave
- Turn left onto Commonwealth
Parking may be available in the Chase Bank parking lot (on the left) or in the Credit Union parking lot (on the right). There also may be parking available on the street.
- Then walk to Foothill Blvd and turn right (west) along Foothill. We are a short distance along at 827 Foothill, which is the second building on the right beyond the Credit Union.
Traveling from the east:
- From the 210 fwy take the Foothill Blvd exit
- At the initial stoplight, turn left onto Foothill Blvd and go to the next stoplight, which is Hampton
- Turn right onto Hampton, continue past the first stop sign to Houseman
- Turn left onto Houseman and continue to the end, which is Oakwood Ave
- Turn left onto Oakwood, continue for about a half block
- Turn right onto La Porte (right after the bridge) and continue to the end, which is Commonwealth Ave
- Turn left onto Commonwealth.
