The Bible
  1. Isa. 2:1-5

1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

  2. I Sam. 25:2 there (to :), 3 (to 2nd ;), 5, 10 (to 2nd ?), 11-13 (to 1st .), 14-18, 19 But, 20 (to ;), 23, 24 (to :), 25 (to 2nd :), 32, 33, 38, 39 (to :), 39 3rd And, 42

there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats:

    ... 3Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings;

5And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name:

10And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse?

... 11Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be?

12So David’s young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings.

13And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword.

14But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them.

15But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields:

16They were a wall unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.

17Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.

18Then Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched corn, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on asses.

But she told not her husband Nabal.

    20And it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came down by the covert of the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against her;

... 23And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground,

24And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity be:

... 25Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him:

32And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me:

33And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand.

38And it came to pass about ten days after, that the Lord smote Nabal, that he died.

39And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the Lord, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil:And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife.

... 42And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode upon an ass, with five damsels of hers that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife.

  3. Matt. 8:18, 23-27

18Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

23And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

24And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

25And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

26And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

27But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

  4. Matt. 9:35

35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 516:9-12 Life

Life is reflected in existence, Truth in truthfulness, God in Love imparts beautygoodness, which impart their own peace and 12permanence.

  2. SH 226:15-17

These claims are not Cramping systemsmade through code or creed, but in demonstra-tion of “on earth peace, good-will toward men.”

  3. SH 124:14, 25-26 (to 2nd .), 27-2

The universe, like man, is to be interpreted by Science 15from its divine Principle, God, and then it can be under-Right interpretationstood; but when explained on the basis of physical sense and represented as subject to 18growth, maturity, and decay, the universe, like man, is, and must continue to be, an enigma.

Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things. We tread on forces. ... Human knowledge calls them forces of matter; but divine Science declares that they belong wholly to divine Mind, are inherent in this 30Mind, and so restores them to their rightful home and classification.

The elements and functions of the physical body and 125 125:1of the physical world will change as mortal mind changes its beliefs.

  4. SH 228:25-27

There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dis-27Priestly pride humbledhonor God.

  5. SH 323:6-9

Through the wholesome chastisements of Love, we are helped onward in the march towards righteousness, A bright outlookpeace, and purity, which are the landmarks 9of Science.

  6. SH 192:19-24 (to 1st .), 27-29, 30

In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physi-21cal senses must give up their false testimony. Your in-fluence for good depends upon the weight you throw into the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you 24the only power obtainable.

We walk in the footsteps of Truth and Love by follow-ing the example of our Master in the understanding of divine metaphysics. ... Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power.

  7. SH 273:4

Human belief has sought out many inventions, but not one of them 6can solve the problem of being without the divine Prin-ciple of divine Science. Deductions from material hy-potheses are not scientific. They differ from real Science 9because they are not based on the divine law.

  8. SH 272:29

God is the divine Principle of all that repre-30God the Principle of allsents Him and of all that really exists. Chris-tian Science, as demonstrated by Jesus, alone reveals the natural, divine Principle of Science.

  9. SH 186:7-16

Erring human mind-forces can work only evil under whatever name or pretence they are em-9ployed; for Spirit and matter, good and evil, light and darkness, cannot mingle.

Evil is a negation, because it is the absence of truth. 12It is nothing, because it is the absence of something. It Evil negative and self-destructive is unreal, because it presupposes the absence of God, the omnipotent and omnipresent. 15Every mortal must learn that there is neither power nor reality in evil.

  10. SH 275:10

To grasp the reality and order of being in its Science, you must begin by reckoning God as the divine Principle 12Divine synonyms of all that really is. Spirit, Life, Truth, Love, combine as one, — and are the Scriptural names for God. All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, im-15mortality, cause, and effect belong to God. These are His attributes, the eternal manifestations of the infinite divine Principle, Love. No wisdom is wise but His 18 wisdom; no truth is true, no love is lovely, no life is Life but the divine; no good is, but the good God bestows.

  11. SH 276:4-24

When the divine precepts are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship, 6in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with the Scriptural command: “Let this Mind be in you, 9which was also in Christ Jesus.” Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.

12    The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings objects and thoughts into human view in their true light, and presents them as beautiful and immortal. Harmony 15in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.

If God is admitted to be the only Mind and Life, 18there ceases to be any opportunity for sin and death. Perfection requisiteWhen we learn in Science how to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect, 21thought is turned into new and healthy channels, — towards the contemplation of things immortal and away from materiality to the Principle of the universe, includ-24ing harmonious man.

  12. SH 302:19

The Science of being reveals man as perfect, even as the Father is perfect, because the Soul, or Mind, 21of the spiritual man is God, the divine Principle of all being, and because this real man is governed by Soul instead of sense, by the law of Spirit, not by the so-called 24laws of matter.

  13. SH 306:25

Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding 27to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle, — is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal.

  14. SH 506:10-12

Through divine Science, Spirit, God, unites under-standing to eternal harmony. The calm and exalted 12Exalted thoughtthought or spiritual apprehension is at peace.

  15. SH 496:15

Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, 18based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, over-lying, and encompassing all true being.

  16. SH 265:10

This scientific sense of being, forsaking matter for Spirit, by no means suggests man’s absorption into Deity 12 and the loss of his identity, but confers upon man en-larged individuality, a wider sphere of thought and action, a more expansive love, a higher and more permanent 15peace.
