The Bible
  1. Gen. 13:1-3, 5-7 (to :), 8-12, 14-18

1And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

2And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

    3And he went on his journeys from the south even to Beth–el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth–el and Hai;

5And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

6And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

7And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle:

... 8And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

9Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

14And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

15For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

17Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

18Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.

  2. Gen. 14:1, 2 (to 2nd ,), 11, 12, 14 when, 16, 18-20

    1And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

2That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah,

... 11And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

12And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

... 16And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

19And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

20And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

  3. Gen. 15:1

1After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

  4. Luke 18:18-20, 35-43

18And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

19And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

20Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

35And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

36And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.

37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.

38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

39And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,

41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.

42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

  5. Ps. 16:5, 6, 8 2nd I, 11 (to ;)

5The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

6The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

... I shall not be moved.

    ... 11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy;

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 276:4-16

When the divine precepts are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship, 6in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with the Scriptural command: “Let this Mind be in you, 9which was also in Christ Jesus.” Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.

12    The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings objects and thoughts into human view in their true light, and presents them as beautiful and immortal. Harmony 15in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.

  2. SH 304:16-18, 20

Harmony is produced by its Principle, is controlled by it and abides with it. Divine Principle is the Life 18Harmony natural of man. ... Harmony in man is as beautiful 21as in music, and discord is unnatural, unreal.

  3. SH 278:32-3

Which ought to 279 279:1be substance to us, — the erring, changing, and dying, the mutable and mortal, or the unerring, immutable, 3and immortal?

  4. SH 94:14

Tyranny, intolerance, and bloodshed, wherever found, 15arise from the belief that the infinite is formed after the pattern of mortal personality, passion, and impulse.

  5. SH 337:5-6

Material personality is not realism; it is not 6the reflection or likeness of Spirit, the perfect God.

  6. SH 122:1-7

The evidence of the physical senses often reverses the real Science of being, and so creates a reign of discord, — 3Opposing testimonyassigning seeming power to sin, sickness, and death; but the great facts of Life, rightly un-derstood, defeat this triad of errors, contradict their false 6witnesses, and reveal the kingdom of heaven, — the actual reign of harmony on earth.

  7. SH 131:3

There is no error in Science, and our lives must be governed by reality in order to be in har-mony with God, the divine Principle of all being.

  8. SH 186:11

Evil is a negation, because it is the absence of truth. 12It is nothing, because it is the absence of something. It Evil negative and self-destructive is unreal, because it presupposes the absence of God, the omnipotent and omnipresent. 15Every mortal must learn that there is neither power nor reality in evil.

  9. SH 269:5, 13-20

Jesus’ demon-6strations sift the chaff from the wheat, and unfold the unity and the reality of good, the unreality, the nothing-ness, of evil.

The categories of metaphysics rest on one basis, the divine Mind. Metaphysics resolves 15things into thoughts, and exchanges the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul.

These ideas are perfectly real and tangible to spiritual 18consciousness, and they have this advantage over the ob-jects and thoughts of material sense, — they are good and eternal.

  10. SH 444:27

Immortals, or God’s children in divine Science, are one harmonious family; but mortals, or the “children of men” in material 30sense, are discordant and ofttimes false brethren.

  11. SH 273:29-3

Science shows that material, conflicting mortal opin-30ions and beliefs emit the effects of error at all times, but this atmosphere of mortal mind cannot be destructive to morals and health when it is opposed promptly and per-274274:1sistently by Christian Science. Truth and Love antidote this mental miasma, and thus invigorate and sustain ex-3Material knowledge illusiveistence.

  12. SH 248:3-4, 19-20, 26-29

Love never loses sight of loveliness. Its halo rests upon its object.

Do you not hear from all mankind of the imperfect model?

We must form perfect 27Perfect modelsmodels in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives.

  13. SH 205:22, 32

When we realize that there is one Mind, the divine law Redemption from selfishnessof loving our neighbor as ourselves is unfolded; 24whereas a belief in many ruling minds hinders man’s normal drift towards the one Mind, one God, and leads human thought into opposite channels 27where selfishness reigns.

When we fully understand our relation to the Divine, 206 206:1we can have no other Mind but His, — no other Love, wisdom, or Truth, no other sense of Life, and no con-3sciousness of the existence of matter or error.

  14. SH 412:13-14

The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent.

  15. SH 515:21 Man

Man is the family name for all ideas, — the sons and daughters of God. All that God imparts moves in accord with Him, reflecting good-24ness and power.

  16. SH 192:17-21

Moral and spiritual might belong to Spirit, who holds 18the “wind in His fists;” and this teaching accords with The one real powerScience and harmony. In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physi-21cal senses must give up their false testimony.

  17. SH 208:20

Let us learn 21of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven, — the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain 24forever unseen.

  18. SH 467:9-13

It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact 12becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brother-hood of man will be established.

  19. SH 565:13-18

The impersonation of the spiritual idea had a brief history in the earthly life of our 15Master; but “of his kingdom there shall be no end,” for Christ, God’s idea, will eventually rule all nations and peoples — imperatively, absolutely, finally — with di-18vine Science.

  20. SH 340:23

One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; con-24stitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in 27social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.
