The Bible
  1. Isa. 43:1 now, 2, 5-7, 10, 11, 19

now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

    ... 5Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

    6I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

7Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

10Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

11I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.

19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

  2. Judg. 7:2-4 (to :), 5 Every, 6 (to :), 7 (to :), 9 (to ;), 16, 20 (to :), 21

2And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

3Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

4And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there:

... Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

6And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men:

... 7And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand:

    9And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host;

16And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.

20And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal:

... 21And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.

  3. John 1:1, 3-5 (to ;)

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

... 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

    5And the light shineth in darkness;

  4. John 2:1-3 there, 6-8 (to 1st .), 9, 10

there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

... 6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast.

... 9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

  5. Mark 1:21-26, 28

21And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

22And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

23And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

... 28And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

  6. Rom. 12:2 be

be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 468:10-11

All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all.

  2. SH 331:18 God

God is individual, incorporeal. He is divine Prin-ciple, Love, the universal cause, the only creator, and The universal causethere is no other self-existence. He is all-21inclusive, and is reflected by all that is real and eternal and by nothing else. He fills all space, and it is impossible to conceive of such omnipresence and in-24dividuality except as infinite Spirit or Mind. Hence all is Spirit and spiritual.

  3. SH 191:4

As mortals give up the delusion that there is more than one Mind, more than one God, man in God’s likeness will 6appear, and this eternal man will include in that likeness no material element.

  4. SH 310:5-6, 10, 14, 29-31

Matter is made up of supposititious mortal mind-force; 6but all might is divine Mind. ... God is His own infinite Mind, and expresses all.

So Science reveals Soul as God, untouched 15by sin and death, — as the central Life and intelligence around which circle harmoniously all things in the sys-tems of Mind.

Mind is God, and God is not seen by material sense, 30because Mind is Spirit, which material sense cannot dis-cern.

  5. SH 281:14-20

The one Ego, the one Mind or Spirit called God, is 15infinite individuality, which supplies all form and come-liness and which reflects reality and divinity in individual spiritual man and things.

18    The mind supposed to exist in matter or beneath a skull bone is a myth, a misconceived sense and false conception as to man and Mind.

  6. SH 114:10-17, 27

In Science, Mind is one, including noumenon and phe-nomena, God and His thoughts.

12    Mortal mind is a solecism in language, and involves an improper use of the word mind. As Mind is immortal, Imperfect terminologythe phrase mortal mind implies something un-15true and therefore unreal; and as the phrase is used in teaching Christian Science, it is meant to designate that which has no real existence.

In divine Science, the universe, including man, is spiritual, harmoni-ous, and eternal. Science shows that what is termed mat-30ter is but the subjective state of what is termed by the author mortal mind.

  7. SH 125:6, 16

Neither organic inaction nor overaction is beyond God’s control; and man will be found normal and natural to changed mortal thought, 9and therefore more harmonious in his manifestations than he was in the prior states which human belief created and sanctioned.

Reflecting God’s government, man is self-governed. When subordinate 18to the divine Spirit, man cannot be controlled by sin or death, thus proving our material theories about laws of health to be valueless.

  8. SH 259:22-24, 26-8

Mortal thought transmits its own images, and forms its offspring after human illusions. God, Spirit, works 24Immortal modelsspiritually, not materially. ... Immortal 27ideas, pure, perfect, and enduring, are transmitted by the divine Mind through divine Science, which corrects error with truth and demands spiritual thoughts, divine 30concepts, to the end that they may produce harmonious results.

Deducing one’s conclusions as to man from imperfec-260260:1tion instead of perfection, one can no more arrive at the true conception or understanding of man, and make him-3self like it, than the sculptor can perfect his outlines from an imperfect model, or the painter can depict the form and face of Jesus, while holding in thought the character 6of Judas.

The conceptions of mortal, erring thought must give way to the ideal of all that is perfect and eternal.

  9. SH 492:19-21 (to 1st .), 22-26

Science says: All is Mind and Mind’s idea. You must fight it out on this 21line.

The notion that mind and matter commingle in the human illusion as to sin, sickness, and death must even-24Scientific ultimatumtually submit to the Science of Mind, which denies this notion. God is Mind, and God is infinite; hence all is Mind.

  10. SH 507:24-25, 28-29

Infinite Mind creates and governs all, from the men-tal molecule to infinity. ... Creation is ever appearing, and must ever con-tinue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source.

  11. SH 508:2

But the seed is in itself, only as the divine Mind 3 is All and reproduces all — as Mind is the multiplier, and Mind’s infinite idea, man and the universe, is the product. The only intelligence or substance of a thought, 6a seed, or a flower is God, the creator of it. Mind is the Soul of all. Mind is Life, Truth, and Love which gov-erns all.

  12. SH 208:20-25

Let us learn 21of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven, — the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain 24forever unseen.

        Mind, not matter, is causation.

  13. SH 393:8-18

Mind is the 9master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action. 12Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on 15man.

Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God’s govern-18No pain in matterment.

  14. SH 249:1-5

Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive 3ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence.

Let the “male and female” of God’s creating appear.

  15. SH 209:5-8

Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing 6them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, Allness of Truththe life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind.
