The Bible
  1. Ps. 23:1-6

    1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

    2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

    3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

    4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

    5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

    6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

  2. Matt. 19:26 2nd with

    with God all things are possible.

  3. I Kings 17:1, 8-15

    1And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

    8And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

    9Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

    10So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

    11And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

    12And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

    13And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

    14For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

    15And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

  4. I Kings 19:13 4th And, 15 (to 1st :), 19, 21 Then

    And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

    ... 15And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus:

    19So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

    ... Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

  5. Neh. 9:6, 7, 9, 15, 20, 21

    6Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

    7Thou art the Lord the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;

    ... 9And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;

    ... 15And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

    ... 20Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

    21Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

  6. Jer. 29:4, 5, 11, 14 3rd and (to ;)

    4Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;

    5Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;

    11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

    ... and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord;

  7. John 6:16-21

    16And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,

    17And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

    18And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

    19So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

    20But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

    21Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

  8. Isa. 30:21 thine

    thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 91:5-7

        Let us rid ourselves of the belief that man is separated 6from God, and obey only the divine Principle, Life and Love.

  2. SH 23:21-2

        In Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English, faith and the words corresponding thereto have these two defini-Self-reliance and confidencetions, trustfulness and trustworthiness. One 24kind of faith trusts one’s welfare to others. Another kind of faith understands divine Love and how to work out one’s “own salvation, with fear and trem-27bling.” “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief!” expresses the helplessness of a blind faith; whereas the injunction, “Believe . . . and thou shalt be saved!” 30demands self-reliant trustworthiness, which includes spir-itual understanding and confides all to God.

        The Hebrew verb to believe means also to be firm or 24 24:1to be constant. This certainly applies to Truth and Love understood and practised.

  3. SH 89:18-21, 22-27

        Mind is not necessarily dependent upon educational processes. It possesses of itself all beauty and poetry, Scientific improvisationand the power of expressing them. Spirit, 21God, is heard when the senses are silent. ... The influence or action of Soul confers a freedom, which explains the phe-24nomena of improvisation and the fervor of untutored lips.

        Matter is neither intelligent nor creative. The tree is not the author of itself. Sound is not the originator of 27Divine originationmusic, and man is not the father of man.

  4. SH 90:24-25

        The admission to one’s self that man is God’s own like-ness sets man free to master the infinite idea.

  5. SH 232:32-1

        There is neither place nor opportunity in Science for error 233 233:1of any sort.

  6. SH 276:9-18

    Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.

    12    The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings objects and thoughts into human view in their true light, and presents them as beautiful and immortal. Harmony 15in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.

        If God is admitted to be the only Mind and Life, 18there ceases to be any opportunity for sin and death.

  7. SH 296:9 (only)

    The old man with his deeds must be put off.

  8. SH 427:9, 14-16

    The be-lief that existence is contingent on matter must be met and mastered by Science, before Life can be understood 12and harmony obtained.

    Nothing can interfere with the 15Mortality vanquishedharmony of being nor end the existence of man in Science.

  9. SH 91:16

        Absorbed in material selfhood we discern and reflect but faintly the substance of Life or Mind. The denial of 18material selfhood aids the discernment of man’s spirit-ual and eternal individuality, and destroys the erroneous knowledge gained from matter or through what are termed 21the material senses.

  10. SH 306:25

    Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding 27to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle, — is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal.

  11. SH 505:22-29

    Spiritual understanding unfolds Mind, — Life, Truth, and Love, — and demonstrates the 24divine sense, giving the spiritual proof of the universe in Christian Science.

        This understanding is not intellectual, is not the result 27of scholarly attainments; it is the reality of all things Original reflectedbrought to light. God’s ideas reflect the im-mortal, unerring, and infinite.

  12. SH 283:4-7

        Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious 6Source of all life and actionaction. Mind is the same Life, Love, and wis-dom “yesterday, and to-day, and forever.”

  13. SH 162:4-16

        Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies. Christian Science 6Truth an alterativeacts as an alterative, neutralizing error with Truth. It changes the secretions, expels hu -mors, dissolves tumors, relaxes rigid muscles, restores 9carious bones to soundness. The effect of this Science is to stir the human mind to a change of base, on which it may yield to the harmony of the divine Mind.

    12    Experiments have favored the fact that Mind governs the body, not in one instance, but in every instance. The Practical successindestructible faculties of Spirit exist without 15the conditions of matter and also without the false beliefs of a so-called material existence.

  14. SH 278:4

    Spirit is the only substance and consciousness recognized by divine Science. The material 6senses oppose this, but there are no material senses, for matter has no mind. In Spirit there is no matter, even as in Truth there is no error, and in good no evil. It is 9a false supposition, the notion that there is real substance-matter, the opposite of Spirit. Spirit, God, is infinite, all. Spirit can have no opposite.

  15. SH 191:16-17, 21

        The human thought must free itself from self-imposed Spiritual freedommateriality and bondage.

        By its own volition, not a blade of grass springs up, not a spray buds within the vale, not a leaf unfolds its fair outlines, not a flower starts from its cloistered cell.

  16. SH 506:10-12, 18

        Through divine Science, Spirit, God, unites under-standing to eternal harmony. The calm and exalted 12Exalted thoughtthought or spiritual apprehension is at peace.

        Spirit, God, gathers unformed thoughts into their Unfolding of thoughtsproper channels, and unfolds these thoughts, even as He opens the petals of a holy purpose 21in order that the purpose may appear.

  17. SH 454:18-23

    Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to 21speech and action. Love is priestess at the altar of Truth. Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept.

  18. SH 578:13-18

        [Love] prepareth a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: [love] anointeth my head with oil; my cup 15runneth over.

        Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house [the consciousness] 18of [love] for ever.
