- Ps. 46:10 (to :), 11 (to 1st .)
10Be still, and know that I am God:
... 11The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
- Ps. 8:1, 3-6
1O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
... 3When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
- Zeph. 3:15 2nd the (to 2nd :), 16, 17
the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee:
... 16In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
17The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
- Prov. 3:1, 3-6, 13
1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments;
... 3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
13¶ Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
- Ps. 1:1-3
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
- Ps. 5:11 let, 12
let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
- John 15:5 (to 2nd :), 7, 8, 11
5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
... 7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
... 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
- Mark 5:25-34
25And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
- Ps. 67:1 (to 2nd ;), 2, 4 (to 1st .), 6
1God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us;
... 2That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
... 4O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.
... 6Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
- Acts 8:5-8
5Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8And there was great joy in that city.
- Ps. 16:5, 6, 8, 9 (to :), 11
5The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
... 8I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:
... 11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

God is natural good, and is repre-sented only by the idea of goodness; while evil should be regarded as unnatural, because it is opposed to the nature 24of Spirit, God.
In viewing the sunrise, one finds that it contradicts the evidence before the senses to believe that the earth 27The sun and Soulis in motion and the sun at rest. As astron-omy reverses the human perception of the movement of the solar system, so Christian Science re-30verses the seeming relation of Soul and body and makes body tributary to Mind. Thus it is with man, who is but the humble servant of the restful Mind, though it 120 120:1seems otherwise to finite sense.

If spiritual sense always guided Emotional utterancesmen, there would grow out of ecstatic mo-ments a higher experience and a better life 21with more devout self-abnegation and purity. ... The “di-24vine ear” is not an auditory nerve. It is the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied.
- SH 31:4 (only), 13-22 (to .)
Jesus acknowledged no ties of the flesh.
He attached Healing primaryno importance to dead ceremonies. It is the 15living Christ, the practical Truth, which makes Jesus “the resurrection and the life” to all who follow him in deed. Obeying his precious precepts, — following his 18demonstration so far as we apprehend it, — we drink of his cup, partake of his bread, are baptized with his pu-rity; and at last we shall rest, sit down with him, in a full 21understanding of the divine Principle which triumphs over death.

Reform comes by understanding that there is no abid-ing pleasure in evil, and also by gaining an affection for 3good according to Science, which reveals the immortal fact that neither pleasure nor pain, appetite nor passion, can exist in or of matter, while divine Mind can and does 6destroy the false beliefs of pleasure, pain, or fear and all the sinful appetites of the human mind.
To the physical senses, the strict demands of Christian 18Peremptory demandsScience seem peremptory; but mortals are has-tening to learn that Life is God, good, and that evil has in reality neither place nor power in the human or 21the divine economy.
- SH 272:19-25, 29-4
It is the spiritualization of thought and Christianization of daily life, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce 21Unspiritual contrastsof material existence; it is chastity and purity, in contrast with the downward tendencies and earthward gravitation of sensualism and impurity, 24which really attest the divine origin and operation of Chris-tian Science.
God is the divine Principle of all that repre-30God the Principle of allsents Him and of all that really exists. Chris-tian Science, as demonstrated by Jesus, alone reveals the natural, divine Principle of Science.
273273:1 Matter and its claims of sin, sickness, and death are contrary to God, and cannot emanate from Him. There 3is no material truth. The physical senses can take no cognizance of God and spiritual Truth.
- SH 183:4, 16-18, 21-24
To suppose that God constitutes laws of inharmony is a mistake; dis-6cords have no support from nature or divine law, however much is said to the contrary.
The supposed laws which result in weariness and dis-ease are not His laws, for the legitimate and only possible 18Laws of nature spiritualaction of Truth is the production of harmony. ... Divine Mind rightly demands man’s entire obe-dience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man 24power and strength.
- SH 509:20
So-called mineral, vegetable, and animal substances 21are no more contingent now on time or material struc-Divine nature appearingture than they were when “the morning stars sang together.” Mind made the “plant of 24the field before it was in the earth.” The periods of spiritual ascension are the days and seasons of Mind’s creation, in which beauty, sublimity, purity, and holiness 27 — yea, the divine nature — appear in man and the uni-verse never to disappear.
- SH 371:27-3
The necessity for uplifting the race is father to the fact that Mind can do it; for Mind can impart purity instead of impurity, strength instead of weak-30ness, and health instead of disease. Truth is an altera-tive in the entire system, and can make it “every whit whole.”
372372:1 Remember, brain is not mind. Matter cannot be sick, and Mind is immortal. The mortal body is only an erro-3Brain not intelligentneous mortal belief of mind in matter.
- SH 323:9, 14-16, 24
Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause, — wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and concep-12tion unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.
We must recollect that 15Need and supplyTruth is demonstrable when understood, and that good is not understood until demonstrated. ... The true idea of God gives the true understanding of Life and Love, robs the grave of victory, takes away all sin and the delusion that 27there are other minds, and destroys mortality.
- SH 99:23
The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the 24manifestations of which are health, purity, and self-immolation, must deepen human experience, until the beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposi-27tion, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to God’s spiritual, perfect man.
