- Deut. 1:30
30The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
- II Chron. 32:1 Sennacherib, 2 Hezekiah, 6-8 (to 1st .), 10, 11, 14, 20, 21 (to 2nd .), 22
Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
... Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
... 6And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,
7Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
8With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles.
10Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?
11Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The Lord our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
... 14Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?
... 20And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.
21¶ And the Lord sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land.
22Thus the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.
- Ps. 55:16 I, 18 (to :)
I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.
... 18He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me:
- II Kings 6:8 the, 9, 11 (to ;), 13 (to 1st .), 14-17 3rd and, 19, 21-23
the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
9And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
... 11Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing;
13¶ And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him.
... and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
15And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
19¶ And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.
... 21And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?
22And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.
23And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.
- II Cor. 10:3-5 though
though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
- Eph. 6:10-17
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

If 15your endeavors are beset by fearful odds, and you receive no present reward, go not back to error, nor become a sluggard in the race.
18 When the smoke of battle clears away, you will dis-cern the good you have done, and receive according to your deserving. Love is not hasty to deliver us from 21temptation, for Love means that we shall be tried and purified.
Final deliverance from error, whereby we rejoice in 24immortality, boundless freedom, and sinless sense, is not Deliverance not vicariousreached through paths of flowers nor by pinning one’s faith without works to another’s vicarious 27effort.

In this final struggle for supremacy, semi-metaphysi-15cal systems afford no substantial aid to scientific meta-Confusion confoundedphysics, for their arguments are based on the false testimony of the material senses as 18well as on the facts of Mind. These semi-metaphysical 269 269:1systems are one and all pantheistic, and savor of Pan-demonium, a house divided against itself.

God is Mind, and God is infinite; hence all is Mind. On this statement rests the 27Science of being, and the Principle of this Science is di-vine, demonstrating harmony and immortality.
The conservative theory, long believed, is that there 30are two factors, matter and mind, uniting on some im-possible basis. This theory would keep truth and error always at war. Victory would perch on neither banner.

The struggle for the recovery of invalids goes on, not 9between material methods, but between mortal minds The struggle and victoryand immortal Mind. The victory will be on the patient’s side only as immortal Mind 12 through Christ, Truth, subdues the human belief in disease.
Scientific healing has this advantage over other meth-ods, — that in it Truth controls error.
Other methods undertake to oppose error with error, and thus they increase the antagonism of one form of 27Matter versus mattermatter towards other forms of matter or error, and the warfare between Spirit and the flesh goes on. By this antagonism mortal mind must con-30tinually weaken its own assumed power.

Evil is self-assertive. It says: “I am a real entity, over-18mastering good.” This falsehood should strip evil of all pretensions. The only power of evil is to destroy itself. It can never destroy one iota of good. Every attempt of evil 21to destroy good is a failure, and only aids in peremptorily punishing the evil-doer.
