  1. Rom. 13:8, 9 and, 10

    8Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

    ... and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

    10Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

  2. Rom. 12:10, 16 (to 1st .), 18

    10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

    ... 16Be of the same mind one toward another.

    ... 18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

  3. Eph. 4:1-3, 13-16 we, 22-25 put, 32 be

    1I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

    2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

    3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

    ... we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

    14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

    15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

    16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

    ... put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

    23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

    24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

    25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

    ... be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

  4. I Thess. 3:12 the

    the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

  5. I Thess. 4:9 as

    as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

  6. I Pet. 1:22

    22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

  7. I Pet. 3:8-12 be (to :)

    be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

    9Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

    10For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

    11Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

    12For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

  8. I John 3:11 this, 17, 18

    this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

    ... 17But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

    18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

  9. I John 4:7, 8, 11, 12 If, 16, 21

    7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

    8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

    ... 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

    ... If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

    ... 16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

    ... 21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

  10. Gal. 5:13 by, 14

    by love serve one another.

    14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 496:5

    You will learn 6that in Christian Science the first duty is to obey God, to have one Mind, and to love another as yourself.

  2. SH 113:5-6

    The vital part, 6the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love.

  3. SH 367:3

    The tender word and Christian encouragement of an invalid, pitiful patience with his fears and the removal of them, are better than 6hecatombs of gushing theories, stereotyped borrowed speeches, and the doling of arguments, which are but so many parodies on legitimate Christian Science, aflame 9with divine Love.

  4. SH 366:12-19

        The physician who lacks sympathy for his fellow-being is deficient in human affection, and we have the The true physicianapostolic warrant for asking: “He that loveth 15not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” Not having this spiritual affection, the physician lacks faith in the divine 18Mind and has not that recognition of infinite Love which alone confers the healing power.

  5. SH 365:15, 31

        If the Scientist reaches his patient through divine Love, the healing work will be accomplished at one Speedy healingvisit, and the disease will vanish into its native 18nothingness like dew before the morning sun-shine. If the Scientist has enough Christly affection to win his own pardon, and such commendation as the Mag-21dalen gained from Jesus, then he is Christian enough to practise scientifically and deal with his patients compas-sionately; and the result will correspond with the spiritual 24intent.

    The poor suf -fering heart needs its rightful nutriment, such as peace, 366 366:1patience in tribulation, and a priceless sense of the dear Father’s loving-kindness.

  6. SH 8:14-18, 20-24, 28-30

    If we feel the aspiration, hu-15mility, gratitude, and love which our words express, — this God accepts; and it is wise not to try to deceive ourselves or others, for “there is nothing covered that 18shall not be revealed.” ... Praying for humility with what-21ever fervency of expression does not always mean a desire for it. If we turn away from the poor, we are not ready to receive the reward of Him who blesses 24the poor.

        We should examine ourselves and learn what is the affection and purpose of the heart, for in this way 30Searching the heartonly can we learn what we honestly are.

  7. SH 9:5

        The test of all prayer lies in the answer to these 6questions: Do we love our neighbor better because of Summit of aspirationthis asking? Do we pursue the old selfish-ness, satisfied with having prayed for some-9thing better, though we give no evidence of the sin-cerity of our requests by living consistently with our prayer? If selfishness has given place to kindness, 12we shall regard our neighbor unselfishly, and bless them that curse us; but we shall never meet this great duty simply by asking that it may be done. There is 15a cross to be taken up before we can enjoy the fruition of our hope and faith.

  8. SH 239:5, 16

        Take away wealth, fame, and social organizations, 6which weigh not one jot in the balance of God, and we Right views of humanityget clearer views of Principle. Break up cliques, level wealth with honesty, let worth 9be judged according to wisdom, and we get better views of humanity.

        To ascertain our progress, we must learn where our affections are placed and whom we acknowledge and 18Standpoint revealedobey as God. If divine Love is becoming nearer, dearer, and more real to us, matter is then submitting to Spirit. The objects we pursue and 21the spirit we manifest reveal our standpoint, and show what we are winning.

  9. SH 65:7-8

        If the foundations of human affection are consistent with progress, they will be strong and enduring.

  10. SH 57:22-24

        Human affection is not poured forth vainly, even though it meet no return. Love enriches the nature, en-24Help and disciplinelarging, purifying, and elevating it.

  11. SH 183:21-22

    Divine Mind rightly demands man’s entire obe-dience, affection, and strength.

  12. SH 147:29

    A pure affection takes form in good-30ness, but Science alone reveals the divine Principle of goodness and demonstrates its rules.

  13. SH 102:31-2

    Christian Science despoils the kingdom of evil, and pre-eminently 103 103:1promotes affection and virtue in families and therefore in the community.

  14. SH 451:16

    If our hopes and affec-tions are spiritual, they come from above, not from be-18neath, and they bear as of old the fruits of the Spirit.

  15. SH 571:19

    The cement of a higher humanity will unite all interests in the one 21divinity.

  16. SH 518:15-19

    The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood, all having the same Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth 18his brother’s need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another’s good.
