The Bible
  1. Ps. 90:1, 2, 17 let (to ;)

    1Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

    2Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

    17 ... let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;

  2. Josh. 4:1-3, 20-22, 24

    1And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the Lord spake unto Joshua, saying,

    2Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

    3And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

    20And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.

    21And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

    22Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

    ... 24That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.

  3. Eccl. 9:11 (to ;), 14, 15 (to ;)

    11I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill;

    14There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it:

    15Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city;

  4. Luke 12:27-32

    27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

    28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to-day in the field, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

    29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

    30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

    31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

    32Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

  5. Luke 10:19, 20, 21 I (to :), 25-28

    19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

    20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

    21I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes:

    25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

    26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

    27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

    28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

  6. Matt. 4:23, 24

    23And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

    24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

  7. Matt. 18:12-14

    12How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

    13And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

    14Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

  8. Eph. 4:1-4, 7 unto, 14, 15, 22-24 put

    1I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

    2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

    3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

    4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

    7 ... unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

    ... 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

    15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

    22 ... put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

    23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

    24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

  9. Eph. 5:1, 2 (to 2nd ,), 8, 10, 14

    1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

    2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us,

    ... 8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

    ... 10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

    ... 14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 129:22-24

    21We must look deep Ontology neededinto realism instead of accepting only the out-24ward sense of things.

  2. SH 335:27-29

    27Reality is spiritual, harmonious, immutable, immortal, divine, eternal. Nothing unspirit -ual can be real, harmonious, or eternal.

  3. SH 355:32-3

        Strangely enough, we ask for material theories in sup-356356:1port of spiritual and eternal truths, when the two are so antagonistic that the material thought must become spir-3Weakness of material theoriesitualized before the spiritual fact is attained.

  4. SH 560:11-19

    The great 12True estimate of God’s messengermiracle, to human sense, is divine Love, and the grand necessity of existence is to gain the true idea of what constitutes the kingdom of 15heaven in man. This goal is never reached while we hate our neighbor or entertain a false estimate of any-one whom God has appointed to voice His Word. Again, 18without a correct sense of its highest visible idea, we can never understand the divine Principle.

  5. SH 356:7-18

    Discord can never establish the facts of harmony. Matter is not the vestibule of Spirit.

    9    Jesus reasoned on this subject practically, and con-trolled sickness, sin, and death on the basis of his spir-Irreconcilable differencesituality. Understanding the nothingness of 12material things, he spoke of flesh and Spirit as the two opposites, — as error and Truth, not contrib-uting in any way to each other’s happiness and existence. 15Jesus knew, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing.”

        There is neither a present nor an eternal copartner-18ship between error and Truth, between flesh and Spirit.

  6. SH 9:17

        Dost thou “love the Lord thy God with all thy 18heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind”? Practical religionThis command includes much, even the sur-render of all merely material sensation, affec-21tion, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, 24and material sense and human will have no place.

  7. SH 453:6-8

    6    Right and wrong, truth and error, will be at strife in the minds of students, until victory rests on the side of Winning the fieldinvincible truth.

  8. SH 259:32-12

        Deducing one’s conclusions as to man from imperfec-260260:1tion instead of perfection, one can no more arrive at the true conception or understanding of man, and make him-3self like it, than the sculptor can perfect his outlines from an imperfect model, or the painter can depict the form and face of Jesus, while holding in thought the character 6of Judas.

        The conceptions of mortal, erring thought must give way to the ideal of all that is perfect and eternal. Through 9Spiritual discoverymany generations human beliefs will be attain-ing diviner conceptions, and the immortal and perfect model of God’s creation will finally be seen as 12the only true conception of being.

  9. SH 273:29-3

        Science shows that material, conflicting mortal opin-30ions and beliefs emit the effects of error at all times, but this atmosphere of mortal mind cannot be destructive to morals and health when it is opposed promptly and per-274274:1sistently by Christian Science. Truth and Love antidote this mental miasma, and thus invigorate and sustain ex-3Material knowledge illusiveistence.

  10. SH 4:5

    3To keep the com-6mandments of our Master and follow his example, is our proper debt to him and the only worthy evidence of our gratitude for all that he has 9done. Outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and heartfelt gratitude, since he has said: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

  11. SH 232:3-4, 7-13, 32-1

    3    Many theories relative to God and man neither make man harmonious nor God lovable. ... Security for the claims of harmonious and eternal being is found only in divine Science.

    9    Scripture informs us that “with God all things are possible,” — all good is possible to Spirit; but our prev-alent theories practically deny this, and make healing 12possible only through matter. These theories must be untrue, for the Scripture is true.

        There is neither place nor opportunity in Science for error 233 233:1of any sort.

  12. SH 258:13-21, 25

        God expresses in man the infinite idea forever develop-ing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from 15a boundless basis. Mind manifests all that exists in the infinitude of Truth. We know no more of man as the true divine image and likeness, than we know of 18God.

        The infinite Principle is reflected by the infinite idea and spiritual individuality, but the material so-called senses 21have no cognizance of either Principle or its idea.

        Mortals have a very imperfect sense of the spiritual man and of the infinite range of his thought. To him 27Individual permanencybelongs eternal Life. Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his 30high estate.

  13. SH 259:1-6, 15-17 (to 2nd .)

    Man is not absorbed in Deity, and God’s man discernedman cannot lose his individuality, for he re-3flects eternal Life; nor is he an isolated, soli-tary idea, for he represents infinite Mind, the sum of all substance.

    6    In divine Science, man is the true image of God.

    15    If man was once perfect but has now lost his perfection, then mortals have never beheld in man the reflex image The divine image not lostof God. The lost image is no image.

  14. SH 249:1

    249:1    Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive 3ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence.

  15. SH 254:10

    When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs 12our path. Imperfect mortals grasp the ultimate of spir-itual perfection slowly; but to begin aright and to con-tinue the strife of demonstrating the great problem of 15being, is doing much.

  16. SH 454:17-19, 21-23

    Love for God and man is the true 18incentive in both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. ... Love is priestess at the altar of Truth. Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept.

  17. SH 340:23

    One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; con-24stitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in 27social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.
