February 9: Chino Institutional Committee monthly meeting

The Christian Science State Institutional Committee for the Chino area holds its monthly meeting on Thursday, February 9, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is held at First Church, Monrovia. The meeting will have reports from chaplains in the field, and discussion of the current study topic. All those interested are most welcome at the meeting; it's a great way to find out what the institutional work is all about.


February 11: Bible discussion group, La Cañada Flintridge

The Christian Science Reading Room of First Church, La Cañada Flintridge, holds a Bible Lesson discussion group each month. The next meeting will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 11 a.m.  You and your friends are welcome to join the discussion, sharing inspiration about the Bible Lesson and its applicability to individual and world situations. On-line Wednesday testimony meeting from Boston

Join the on-line congregation of The Mother Church live each Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Pacific Time for hymns and readings specially complied for the day, plus testimonies submitted by listeners. The Christian Science Joint Media Committee of Southern California hosts a 24-hour Bible Lesson telephone line (323 644-2112) offering an introduction to the weekly Lesson, and the ability to select each of the individual sections in the Lesson.


Weekly Bible Lesson, Sunday mornings on the Discovery Channel

Find spiritual adventure and inspiration through viewing the new national broadcast of the Weekly Bible Lesson. It's available across the country, and can be seen in this area every Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. on the Discovery Channel. Questions can be submitted via email, and donation sent to P.O. Wednesday noon testimony meeting at 13th Church, Los Angeles

Sunday evening service, 8 p.m., at 36th Church (Studio City)

Does your schedule sometimes keep you from attending a Sunday morning service? The members of 36th Church, Los Angeles (Studio City), warmly invite you to their Sunday evening service, the only such service in the L.A. area, which begins at 8:00 p.m. On the first Sunday of each month, the service is preceded by a hymn sing beginning at 7:30 p.m. The church is at 4032 Whitsell Avenue, one block north of Ventura Blvd.

For those who would like to share Christian Science with Spanish-speaking friends or acquaintances, Third Church in Downtown Los Angeles holds a bilingual Spanish-English testimony meeting every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to this meeting.


Community reading of Science and Health, at Third Church, L.A.

On the first Sunday of each month, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., meet at Third Church, Los Angeles after their 11:00 a.m. Sunday service to read and discuss the textbook. The church is at 730 S. Hope St. in downtown Los Angeles
