THE HIDDEN CAPACITIES OF SOUL

We invest such hope in presidential campaigns and in the economic forecasts of the Federal Reserve. But there is an often overlooked reason for hope, found in an unexpected place and known as the kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God. We would do well to grasp what Jesus taught about this kingdom. He said, “The kingdom of God never comes by looking for signs of it. Men cannot say, ‘Look, here it is’, or ‘there it is’, for the kingdom of God is inside you.”
What is the kingdom of heaven?
A. the right regimen of diet and recreational exercise
B. the man or woman of your dreams
C. the optimum combination of multivitamins
D. the futile wish for a change in fortune
Or how about E?, the dynamic qualities of God that you unleash through their expression.
The answer to any life-problem is to discover the hidden capacities of God or Soul already inside you. It’s like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. She had those ruby slippers from the outset and could have whisked herself home at any time! But she had to learn as we all do that earthly hopes disappoint. Take holiness. Imagine what good could come from striving to identify yourself and to live as God’s expression of holiness. Or justice. What benefit would be derived from praying to know that God’s justice is being carried forth in every untoward situation you encounter? Or mercy. What health-giving waves would you set in motion by acting more humanely, with compassion and forgiveness? To truly embody such qualities is to unleash the power of the man or woman of God’s creating.
Jesus said, “Set your heart first on the kingdom and his goodness, and all these things will come to you as a matter of course.” In other words, discover and prove for yourself the immense worth of your God-given being inside you and you will have found all you need in Soul. You will experience increasing poise and completeness and a conscious coexistence with God. Is there anything greater in all the world? And what about “these things” implied in A, B, C, and D above? These are the natural outcome of a balanced life planted in Soul.
